Metallized Film Capacitors
Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors

Characteristics include:
All are non-inductive
Self-healing
Stable in capacitance and dissipation
Used in multiple applications

Materials used in manufacturing Metallized Film Capacitors includes:
1. Mylar, also called Polyester (or film) is the most commonly used dielectric. They offer the widest range of capacitance values and a temperature range from -40C to +105C. Frequency band covers from DC to 1 MHz (radio frequency). Also known as Metallized polyester film.
2. Metallized Polypropylene used in high frequency circuits, have low dissipation good HF characteristics and low temperature coefficient.
3. Polycarbonate, offers wide excellent temperature coefficient over the wide temperature range (-40C- +105C). Suitable in high frequency applications (HJC)
4. Polystrene inductively wound with Polystyrene film and aluminuim foil. Ideal for applications in oscillator circuits and instrumentation equipment.

The following ia a cross-reference Guide for Metallized Film Capacitors. If you are using any of these capacitors, you may want to look at our specs and see our parts are suitable for your application. These are grouped by families.

Notes
- Insulation resistance is important when the capacitor is used in low leakage circuits and/or high impendance.
- See charts for permissable AC voltage V Frequency (for specific capacitor types)- DC voltages range from 50VDC-200VDC
